Preventive Dentistry for Fayetteville, NY
When you think about what a dentist or any other doctor does, you're most likely to think of the services they offer to treat existing problems. But preventing problems is an important part of what dentists and other doctors do. Dr. Rinoldo is dedicated to helping patients prevent problems from occurring.
That's why preventive dentistry is such a cornerstone of our Fayetteville practice. With the services below, we want to help you enjoy a disease and cavity-free smile for years to come.
Our preventive services include:
Dental Exams & Cleanings
With routine dental cleanings and exams, we clean hard-to-reach parts of your smile while looking for developing issues, like gum disease or tooth decay.
Dental Sealants
For cavity-prone teeth, dental sealants can be a game-changer. Sealants are applied to the chewing surfaces of molars and other teeth in the form of a liquid and then hardened to form a thin layer of plastic. This plastic layer provides vulnerable teeth with years of advanced protection from harmful bacteria and plaque. What's more, treatment with sealants takes just a matter of minutes to complete, and most insurance companies cover the cost.
Oral Cancer Screenings
While most cases of oral cancer are related to tobacco use and alcohol consumption, at least a quarter of cases have nothing to do with either. What's more, many patients don't receive a diagnosis until the disease is already well developed. By this time, a full recovery may be difficult or impossible. All of this is why we're committed to offering routine oral cancer screenings. With routine oral cancer screenings, our goal is to make an early diagnosis so you can begin treatment immediately. Digital X-Rays
To accurately diagnose your needs, Dr. Rinoldo needs to have a comprehensive picture of your smile. A visual exam gives us part of this picture, but only a small part of it. That's why we take X-rays, and specifically digital X-rays. Digital radiography produces clearer images than traditional radiography, and it's safer for patients exposing them to 70% less radiation. What's more, the images we capture are immediately available and don't have to be physically stored anywhere.
